Some impressions
Jena impression videos: part1 and part2.
Aside from studying and making research, enjoying social gatherings and free time is an essential in Schubert Group. Below are the opinions of some of the members:
"What I like the best in Jena are the very green surroundings, they are ideal for jogging or other freetime activities. The point I appreciate the most in the Schubert group is the wide range of equipment, so a lot of new methods in synthesis and analysis can be explored and used for your own work." Katrin Knop
“What attracted me to the Schubert group was the broad range of innovative research projects in combinatorial experiment design – at the PhD level, there really isn’t anything else like it. In terms of equipment, we have some very unique, enviable capabilities as well. The research atmosphere in Jena is also very genial and collaborative.” Joe Delaney
“Jena is the small town in which I have found perfect atmosphere to conduct my research. It also provides enough opportunities to rest and relax in my free time.” Krzysztof Babiuch
“Jena is great: in the green heart of Germany, surrounded by hills and wood. In spring, summer, autumn or winter everything is looking nice. You can go from one end to the other within 90 min and find everything you need for life. You have short ways to highways and train stations. Jena is the combination of a charming old city and high technology Know How. Working in the group of Prof. Schubert is an interesting thing because of many different characters and nations which find a way to work together in a very familial way. We are working hard because everybody is very ambitious but we also know the nice things in life.”
Anja Teige
“Working in the group of Prof. Schubert gives the opportunity to be involved in the state-of-the-art Chemistry with a lot of open-minded colleagues who are always willing to help and think with you. The city offers a perfect environment to explore many leisure activities such as hiking in the nature or enjoying the many cozy bars, and most important the many cultural activities which are found on almost every corner of the city.” Renzo Paulus
“I enjoy living and working in Jena because it combines in a perfect way, the flair of a small, cozy town with the possibilities you have in a big “science city”. The Schubert group offers me the facilities to do research in a nice environment and on a high level in this city.” Andreas Wild
“It's really fun to live in this beautiful green city in the centre of Germany.Have fun with your friends, colleagues and all the students, spend your after-work nights with/in an attractive nightlife and calm down in the hills all around the city!” Thorsten Walter
